It was a night unlike any other.

The music was pumping, the base was pounding.

The champagne was flowing, the excitment was building.

It was an evening of fashion at it's finest.

It was Harriett's Park Avenue Fashion Week 2010 - The Big Show!

Flaunting a fine cast of Park Avenue merchants, PAFW'10 was as well-rounded as it was well-attended. Without an open seat in sight, all attendees anxiously anticipated the lights to flicker, lower and shine a spotlight on the lastest and greatest fashions that fall has to offer.

The Emerging Designer 2010 winner headed the prominent list, and the best was saved for last.

Rounding out the list of 13 or so merchants, Thread debuted newly arrived pieces from French Connection, Kirribilla, Roberta Freymann Jewelry, and L*Space Swimwear...just to name a few!

It was an unforgettable evening of fun and fashion to kick off the fall season!

All model looks are currently adorning the racks of Thread, just waiting to dress you for your next holiday party, work event, or a simply fabulous Tuesday.

Fashion Week has finally arrived!

The Trunk Shows are unpacked, the champagne is chilling, the events are booked, and the Annual VIP Party commenced last evening with some of Winter Park's finest flashing their fall fashions in preparation for the upcoming week.

In order to kick off this most splendid of occasions, Thread will be hosting Heels-for-Hearts - a charitable Heel-A-Thon in the Rose Garden of Central Park tomorrow, October 17th at Noon. Each participant may adorn between a 2" to 4" heel, and walk sponsored laps around a circular course to raise money for the American Heart Association. After the coursing commences, the crowd will head back to Thread for the after-party of all after-parties. Complete with mimosas, morning delicacies, raffle prizes and special offers for all participants, the party will be in full swing around one. I think it's about time that we put the whole no white after labor day nonsense to rest. Lately I've been hearing the ever-so typical post-August conversation, and it usually follows along the lines of...."that is so cute, but it's white...and it's October, but I do love it!"

Well we're here to say, 'Lady - if you love it, you rock it!'

We live in Florida. This oh-so-sunny state regularly defies the laws of seasonal change, so why shouldn't all Florida fashionistas follow in accordance?Albeit fall fashions can be more fun, so here is an example of how to turn a super-summer dress into an awesome October ensemble!

It’s that time of year again; I can feel it in the air. Fashion Week 2010 is here.

For the fourth consecutive year, the Park Avenue vendors will unveil their finest trends for the forthcoming fall and winter seasons. The catwalk will be constructed, the whimsical white-tents will once again rise, and the trendiest and chic will congregate on the Ave for a week of trunk shows, evening events, fun, friends and fashion. Who knew that behind the beautiful historic brick roads, small-town appeal and Saturday Farmer’s Market, there is an emerging fashion metropolis.

Since 2007, the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce and Park Avenue Area Association have created a unique, fashion-forward event for Winter Park and the community. Harriet’s Park Avenue Fashion Week is held annually in the fall to model the mod fashions from boutiques of Park Avenue and Hannibal Square. Some of the classic Rollins’ favorites will be in attendance, such as Thread, Tuni, Downeast Orvis, Lilly Pulitzer, Coralia Leets, SEE and even a newly established and fabulous four-month old addition, the Violet Clover. Experience Saturday’s [October 23^rd] fashionable grand finale by sitting center stage at the runway show hosted in downtown Winter Park's West Meadow. The styles and sounds of the show all take place under a brilliantly-lit tent designed by New York's Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week's venue designer.

With a sensational schedule jam-packed with trunk shows and events, one might find it over-whelming as to which vendor or event they should experience first. Fortunately we are going to give you an insider exclusive on the fashion fabulous events you can experience at Thread, October 17th-23rd.

Thread will be kicking off Harriett’s Park Avenue Fashion Week 2010 on the right foot. On Sunday, October 17^that noon, Thread will be hosting Heels-for-Hearts, a Heel-A-Thon, in the Rose Garden of Central Park. Heels-for-Hearts entails a circular course around which women in heels will complete laps for sponsorship dollars, of which will be donated to The American Heart Association; the official charity of Park Avenue Fashion Week. Following the event there will be an after-party at Thread around 1:00 p.m., located at 356 Park Avenue South, complete with refreshments, raffles, trunk show shopping and special offers for all participants. There will be live music from a local band that performs regularly at Fiddlers Green, give-a-ways and even more special offers! Thursday is M.A.C. Continuing our trend of picking Fabulous Favorites that can transition from these hot summer months into the cool days of fall - we have the Lovely Ladies of the September/October fall fashions photo shoot for Orange Appeal Magazine raving some of our picks!

The Knubby Motorcycle Jacket pictured above is a more casual take on the classic leather look.
